CAP Engineering is seeking a full-time Geotechnical Civil Intermediate Engineer to join our Edmonton Team. Your role will entail involvement with field investigations, earthwork construction support, and writing detailed reports while participating in developing our laboratory facilities (permanent and mobile).
Responsibilities
- Acting as Project Manager on specific assignments
- Preparing cost estimates and contract documents
- Performing field inspections
- Writing proposals
- Conducting and coordinating geotechnical investigations
- Managing and coordinating laboratory testing of concrete, aggregate and asphalt for our main and mobile laboratories
- Preparing analysis reports
- Performing slope stability assessment
- Collaborating with our Team in applying and improving the work process
- Participating in the organization and management of project resources
- Maintaining and developing client relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical or geological/geotechnical engineering from a Canadian recognized university
- Must be readily eligible to register with Engineers of Yukon
- 5 years of current professional related civil/geotechnical engineering experience
- 2 years of aggregate, concrete and asphalt testing
- Experience with geotechnical instrumentation, data collection, monitoring and interpretation and asset
- Experience with environmental site and risk assessment an asset
- Autonomous and organized
- Good judgement and analysis capacity
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Must be willing to work all shifts, including weekends and must be willing to travel out of town for up to 3 weeks at a time
