The Diesel to Natural Gas Conversion Project was located at the Yukon Energy Corporation Generating Station in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. The Project consisted of the removal of two diesel engines and ancillary equipment that produces diesel generation and replaces them with two new GE natural gas fired engine modules with a total capacity of 8.8 MW. The project also includes the entire related Liquefied Natural Gas processing system and infrastructure.

The project was executed by utilizing the combined resources of CAP Engineering and Allnorth Consultants Limited to provide a comprehensive project management and engineering service. In the design phase of the project, CAP provided civil engineering review, tender documents review, evaluation of contractor bid submissions and developed a construction management plan. In the construction phase of the project, CAP was responsible for the on-site management and coordination of all contractors and vendors. CAP also assisted with overseeing commissioning activities.
