This project involved the expansion of High River’s and Okotoks’ substations. For the Okotoks substation, 11 concrete pile foundations and 1 circuit breaker pad foundation were installed. The High River substation was upgraded by expanding the substation pad. The fence was modified contain this expansion, and 5 concrete pile foundations and 1 circuit breaker pad foundation were installed.

Our Role
At the Okotoks substation, CAP constructed concrete caisson foundations and a concrete circuit breaker pad foundation. We also completed survey services, pile installation, pile caps, as-built surveys, and submission of all quality control records. CAP’s role at the High River substation included site grading, as well as the installation of concrete pile foundations and a concrete circuit breaker pad foundation.
Site grading involved survey services, site clearing, removal of tree roots and debris, and topsoil and stockpile removal. We also supplied, hauled, and placed the pit run and road crush gravel. Foundation installation included survey services, piles and pad installation, pile caps, as-built surveys, and submission of all quality control records.
