Mariana Lakes Load Freer Substation
The Mariana Lakes Load Freer Substation project was established as a necessity to match the increase in demand of electricity around the Fort McMurray area. The Freer Substation project involved the installation of one 144kV circuit breaker, one 144/25 kV transformer and their associated equipment. We provided project management, survey, inspection, and quality assurance/control services for the substation.

Rycroft Substation Expansion
Fort McMurray and the surrounding oil sands area is experiencing substantial industrial growth and as a result, the need for improved substations has become a major issue for most of the large projects taking place in the area. We provided project management, surveying, inspection, and quality assurance/control services for the substation’s earthwork expansion.

Faro Mine Rose Creek Diversion
The construction scope of work for this included North Fork Rose Creek diversion, slope stability improvements and spillway construction.

Carcross Biomass
Biomass is renewable organic material that can be transformed into clean usable energy. A very common practice is to use biomass boilers in small scale heating systems which often burn wood chips, shavings, sawdust, and pellets to produce heat/energy.

Highway 831
This Alberta Transportation project included pavement rehabilitation and safety improvements on 30 km of Highway 831:10 from Hwy 661 to Hwy 63. The pavement rehabilitation included subgrade excavation and full width mill and replace to maintain the existing roadway width.

Manitoba Hydro – Onsite Construction Inspection Services
n the summer of 2015, Manitoba Hydro released two Request for Proposals for the provision of onsite construction inspections, witnessing services, and related activities for transmission line and various other types of projects across Manitoba.

North Fork of Rose Creek Realignment
Awarded the contract by the Government of Alberta for the realignment of the North Fork of Rose Creek at the Faro Mine. The diversion of the creek was initiated to prevent contact between the creek itself and contaminated water from the mine site. Project includes the construction of an inlet dam and excavation of stream channels. Additional work items include clearing and stripping activities, riprap protection, crushing, and producing specialty material, placing culverts, and installing liner to prevent groundwater seepage.

Highway 64
This Alberta Transportation project included pavement rehabilitation of 17.85 km of Highway 64:02 from the BC Border to 6 km east of Highway 717 as well as the safety rest area at km 1.4.

Nares River Bridge
The Nares River Bridge was built to replace the existing wooden bridge built in 1970 to accommodate mining activity in the area. The new bridge was required because the wooden bridge could not accommodate the large loads and demands of today’s vehicles.
